Was an excellent guide for me. I read it when I just started my career as a test engineer. It made me stand out from my peers. Thanks to Mr.Whitaker. Now i suggest this book to all the people who ask me for a good book on testing. I always read it once before I on start with any new project.
This book is currently en-route to me. However, I have the privilege of attending two sessions run by Jim. His “Life-preserver” metaphor for testing software simplifies a rather complex and chaotic practice. I found his message enlightening, his tips productive, and it is delivered with a good dose of humor. The takeaways from his lessons directly affected our practices through subsequent releases.
Having attended two sessions by Dr. Whitaker I had no hesitation on purchasing this book to add to the library at my place of work. After reading it I purchases a copy for every tester that works for me and some additional ones for any new personnel. A very good book for the beginning and seasoned tester that wants hands on experiences and techniques.
I recently completed my first reading of this eye-opening book. I am going to recommend to my management that they include these attacks in our department's testing methodology.
