We have 7.1.1 series in production and performed many test run installations both server and clients both windows and unix before going live. We require (1) Installation Mgr, (2) CC first and then recommend (3) CQ, (4) ReqPro in that order.

I have been trying to find out if there is a specific order of installation of ClearCase and ClearQuest versions 7.1.2 but haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any hard evidence of ClearCase needing to be installed first, before ClearQuest? This would be on Windows and Unix, if that matters.

Not exactly Sure on the Order of CC / CQ first.
In our case we first Install the latest Installation Manager 1.4.3 which has been the Latest and then CC.

back in 2003.06 and 7.0 CC had to be installed first.
When 7.1 came out, I explicitly tested it and it did not matter, which was nice; win and linux tested.
I assume with 7.1.2 this is still the case, but I haven't tested it recently.
