With ClearCase Deliver, is there any chance the command "cleartool mkbl" gets invoked when the deliver operation is being performed between two streams?

Hi All,

As we all know that as part of the clearcase deliver operation , an integration activity gets created. My question is below"

Is there any chance of the command "cleartool mkbl" getting invoked when the deliver operation is being performed between two streams (i,e Development stream and Integration stream)? Any information on this is highly appreciated.

Have a great day.

Hello Ashok,
This can be done using a post operation trigger on Deliver_Complete operation.

Hi Ashok,

Deliver/Rebase in Clearcase is to move the changes from your one stream to another stream. To deliver/rebase (merge) the changes, destination stream needs to be checked-out and on completion of the deliver/rebase operation it will check-in all the merged elements. To do so we need an Activity, that's why Clearcase create an activity while deliver/rebase.

Where as Baseline is entirely a separate which act as a foundation or root layer for the stream's configuration in UCM clearcase.

Hi Prabhakaran &Saar ,

I am all set. I had a small pre-op trigger applied on one of my PVOBS to prohibit the normal users making the baselines from the UCM project. In the triggertype definition, I had mentioned or used the option(-all). This was causing the issue while deliver process goes out. Later i had removed the -all option and re-applied the trigger. Deliver was going fine and all the other operations are okay.

Thanks for all your replies.

Have a good day!
