Saving information about merge types from the cmdline?

Our goal is to acquire information about which merges are trivial, manual, or automatic. Currently, we have clearmrgman, and while it has a save feature, we'd like to do this without involving a GUI or human interaction. 

 

Is there any way to acquire this information about merges from the command line? The solution does not necessarily have to use ClearCase.

Technically this is possible with some tools like Maven & Make but in case of any 2 word documents can this be defined using SCM tools?

Hi all,

We are currently implementing agile, and have a fully realised development cycle in place.  I have now been tasked with implementing a deployment tech stack.  We are currently running a Subversion repository, feeding in to a Jenkins / Maven continuous integration platform, and an Artefactory Repository for compiled code.  We then have no path out of Artefactory (at the moment, the devs are packaging up complete WARs of the environment and copying manually to the target area).  I want to implement a continuous deployment solution, that can be used by developers for small fixes and by tech leads for large releases.

I have looked around but am struggling to find a tool to realise this that will integrate with our current tech (everything seems to want to replace Jenkins etc with their own agent based build / test / artifact solution).  Does anyone know of software that will allow me to automate the movement of compiled code from our dev platform to  our test environment, then on to prod, setting rules and checks along the way?

What is your favorite tool for Windows thick client installs?

How to manage SCM for Oracle eBS?

Hi All

I am setting up a standard configuration management, build & deployment automation and change & release management process for all types of applications including Oracle eBS, Informatica, Siebel, Cognos, Java etc. As you know, SCM for Java and .Net types of applications are very matured, but not for other types of applications such as Oracle eBS. 

Can you give me some hint on how to manage Oracle eBS applications from SCM's perspective? For example,
1. How to version control eBS artifacts?
2. How to build eBS artifacts and then deploy to a new environment?
3. How to manage changes?

We have a standard SCM tool called RTC from IBM, which has version control, build and change control functions.
